An island dressing has a pad at the centre with an adhesive fabric border around it, so it can be placed over a cut, graze or other minor wound and the border pressed firmly down to hold it in position.

It is a handy size to keep in a first aid kit at home, at work or when travelling, ready for use when a minor wound needs covering.
